Milano's city council is participating for the first time at the Arabian Travel Market, the most important fair dedicated to travels and services for tourism for the Middle East area and Pan-Arabic region which is taking place in Dubai until May 9th. The Milanese delegation includes the main public and private operators of the tourist field and many 'symbols' of the metropolis' and Lombardia's strengths, such as Fiera Milano, Triennale, Associazione Orafa Lombardia and Chamber of Commerce.
Three pivotal issues have been chosen to describe Milano's presence at the event: excellence, welcome and innovation. "Through this first participation we want to promote Milano not only as a traditional destination for business and congressional tourism" explains councillor for Tourism, Marketing and Territorial Identity Massimiliano Orsatti "Above all, it could become the ideal destination for an educated and sensitive tourist, like the middle-east one, which is increasingly interested in turning its stay into an exclusive experience made of culture and research of the best accommodation. In Milano all this becomes real."
So as to underline the strong link with the world of design too, the city council stands displays a selection of items borrowed from Triennale's Design Museum. Next to these unique works, are ten pieces created by many goldsmiths offered by the Goldsmith's Association of Lombardia. Just Milano itself boasts some of the most outstanding masters of this art, nowadays a synonym of the 'made in Italy' all over the world.
