FESTIVAL MULTIMEDIALE: A MUST FOR NEW TECNHOLOGIES' LOVERS

Meetings with 'gurus', seminars and a contest for young artists

How has the digital technology changed our way of living? Which are the uses of interactive media? Both multimedia starters and professionals will have the opportunity to hear the answers to these and to many other questions from the voices of some of the field's 'gurus' thanks to the 'Festival multimediale' promoted by the city council, the Province and the Chamber of Commerce. For over seven months, from May to December, Milano will give space to conferences, debates and initiatives dedicated to the multimedia world.

The Santa Teresa Media Center hosts the event 'Meet the Media Guru', a chance to listen and talk to some of the most influential representatives of the new media culture. The first guest is Vincent John Vincent, renowned pioneer of virtual reality. The cofounder and president of Gesturetek, a world-leading company in gesture recognition technology and digital visions for systems of information and entertainment, will face the issue of the body as an interface on the 12th of May at 7.30 p.m.

Then it will be the turn of Donatella Della Ratta, expert of Arabian media, Ron Dembo, who will analyze how social networking can be useful for ecology, and Microsoft's researcher and designer Bill Buxton, who applies technology to design, music and videos.

On May 14th and 15th at Fieramilanocity, the Forum Eba and New Media ADV will focus on web marketing, that is the new means to involve consumers through digital communication media: on the agenda, talk shows, interviews and training seminars. On the same days, 'Le nuove tv digitali' deals with two up-to date issues: the management of copy rights as for digital contents and teenagers' extortionate use of mobile phones and of the Internet.
