FABIO NOVEMBRE: 20 YEARS OF CREATIVITY ON DISPLAY

A retrospect celebrates the eclectic interior architect

Unconventional, unpredictable, sharp and lively: Fabio Novembre is a unique personality in the world of architecture and design, not only in the Italian one. At the age of 41, he has managed to achieve the international visibility by using an originally recognizable language, whose strength is acknowledged both by experts and amateurs. In order to retrace his 20 year long career, until June 8th Milano's city council is dedicates him a retrospect cured by Beppe Finessi and set up by Peter Bottazzi: 'Insegna anche a me la libertà delle rondini' (Teach me as well the freedom of swallows).

The event, which offers free admission for all spectators, is hosted by the complex of San Michele ai Nuovi Sepolcri, better known as 'Rotonda della Besana'. The building, which in the 18th century used to be a graveyard, has become one of the most striking locations for artistic happenings. This time, Novembre's works and projects are connected by a huge black ribbon symbolizing the flight path of swallows.

The exhibition's set up is structured in two parts. In the first one, within a cosy and precious environment, highly refined projects of design and models of installations talk about home, life and love, some of the issues dear to the architect. The second section is larger and gives space to other works linked by recurrent themes such as heart, love, sex, body and nature. Real objects and images presented through big light-boxes describe the works of interior architecture realized by Novembre all around the world.
