Babysitters and caregivers are the most difficult type of workers to find in the city of Milano. It emerges from an investigation of Milano's Chamber of Commerce based on companies' hiring requests. In order to help the balance of supply and demand, the Milanese organization has decided to create a 'Difficult jobs exchange'. The service, whose project was officially launched yesterday, will be available to both the Chamber of Commerce and all citizens.
According to Milanese companies, people responsible for personal services and for food processing are the two professional categories that are the hardest to contact, with 83.4% and 56.6% of hiring, implying troubles of recruitment compared with companies' needs. The agreement protocol, which was signed by the Chamber of Commerce and trade unions (Cgil, Cisl and Uil), implies the development of some activities and initiatives, such as an 'Observatory of jobs', whose task is to monitor the different forms of employment and those jobs defined 'hardly available'. Workers too will have the possibility to access the observatory's database.
Besides, the 'Difficult jobs exchange' will promote surveys on rules and regulation and guardianship of work, on issues connected with black market labour and growth of migrant labour. Finally, a front office will deal with job offers through the creation of a collaboration among institutions and will spread policies against job injuries and the defence of health and wellbeing on workplaces.
