"PARCO IN... COMUNE": 200 EVENTS TRANSFORM FIVE PARKS

From six months, concerts, workshops, courses and much more

Protection and respect of the environment. The initiative 'Parco in... Comune 2008', which 12 months ago registered over 100,000 presences, comes back this year and once again these are its declared prerogatives. The event was presented yesterday during a congress organized by the committee for Urban equipment, 'Milano, Europe - metropolis on the move: new urban scenarios. Environment and safety for a beautiful city to live.

From April 18th to September 28th, five parks of Milano (Trenno, Lambro, Barona, Nord and parco delle Cave, whose extension reaches 8,000 square meters) will host during for the entire week ends a heterogeneous program of events dedicated to a varied public. Concerts, dance performances, musical aperitifs set up by LifeGate Radio (radio station that manages activities and campaigns to make people aware of ecological and environmental issues), recreational and educational spaces for children, gymnastic classes, workshops of theatre and languages.

Besides, thanks to the collaboration between Milano's city council and LifeGate Radio, the 133,631 Kilograms of carbon dioxide released to realize the initiative will be compensated with the reforestation of 10,610 square meters of new green areas in the Ticino park and 27,668 square meters in Costa Rica. A preview of 'Parco in... Comune' will take place on Saturday, April 5th, in the 'parco delle Basiliche'. From 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. non-stop concerts and performance of the Urban Extreme Sports, with some of the best Italian bike trial riders and skaters.
