The race to the Expo 2015 is living its deciding stages. On the 31st of March in Paris the Bureau International des Expositions is going to establish which city between Milano and the Turkish candidate, Smirne, will host the prestigious event. While waiting for the result of the final voting, Milano is getting ready to celebrate, both a triumph and a defeat. That's the idea of the committee "Grazie Milano", which in the last few weeks has gathered the support and participation of many and heterogeneous realities of the Milanese area.
This principle has been welcomed by a lot of personalities belonging to the world of entertainment, culture, fashion and sports that are somehow connected to the town and that today have met in Piazza San Babila to give their testimony and endorse the campaigning. "Milano deserves the Expo because it's an international business and social center", claims famous showman and impersonator Teo Teocoli. "It has been changing, it's becoming a big European and global city. As for us, we must go on being optimist". Ennio Capasa, Costume National's stylist underlines the merits of Italian creativity: "We want the Expo! We think we deserve it as a Nation because of our constant contribution to art and inventiveness all around the world. This is an opportunity to reinforce the international openness and the innovative spirit of the city". Also Danilo Gallinari, 19-year old basketball star of Armani Jeans Milano with a future in the Nba has taken part in the initiative: "Milano would be the best choice, as it could exalt the Expo's image more than any other metropolis".
Next appointment will take place in Porta Venezia Gardens on the deciding day, March 31st, when on big screen the voting will be broadcasted live from Paris: hundreds of students of many elementary and middle schools will attend the final fight between the Italian and Turkish candidate.
