47% of people in Napoli and 55.4% in Roma can't do without their mobile phones, at least for one day, but in Milano the percentage drops to 33%. Basically, just one Milanese out of three doesn't use his mobile during the day. This is the data which emerges from a survey carried out by the Milano's Chamber of Commerce based on a sample of 842 interviews recorded in Milano, Roma and Napoli.
The investigation also points out that one user out of ten admits he can't do without his cell for at least three hours a day, while one out of five uses it for less than ten minutes a day. As for the Internet, it is reported that only half of the interviewed has declared to navigate the net daily. One out of four usually reads newspapers' websites and 11% downloads movies and music. Young people are the most assiduous users: 43.2% spends on the Web between one and three hours. On the other hand, 59.5% of women claims never to use it, in comparison to 33.3% of men. However, the use of the Internet is growing, according to one interviewed out of three.
As regards to television, it is still the favorite medium for information and entertainment: indeed, over one Milanese out of two (65.2%) watches it from one to three hours a day, especially news programs.
