Milano Municipality and Ciclobby association together to promote bicycle use in the city. "We are already organizing together a lot of new interventions to encourage the bicycle use in our city", said Edoardo Croci, Transports and Environment Councilor. "Our goal now is very clear: we want to increase sustainable mobility". Milano Municipality and Transports and Environment Councilor will promote the special event called "Bicinfesta" (Bikeparty), organized with Fiab-Ciclobby: a day in which the city centre will be invaded by a lot of bikes.

The city administration is very focused on promoting sustainable mobility, that's why Milano Municipality made an investigation about citizen's transportation use. This study reveals that in Milano 5% of population use the bike, while ten years ago only 2% of Milanese people did it. Municipality now wants to improve this numbers by redacting a bicycles mobility plan. According to this plan, in 2009 new bicycles paths will be built, doubling in three years the actual number.

Transport Councillor activated with Ciclobby a special Milano's bikers census: this will be completed in May thanks to the cooperation of bikers associations' volunteers and with the scientific contribute of Mobility and Environment Agency. Councilor Croci announced that in 2008 the new bicycle path in Corelli street will be inaugurated. Three new paths directed to Porta Nuova, Porta Monforte and Porta Sempione, will also be built, for a total investment amount of 12 millions euros.
