"THE MOBILE CITY" NEW PHOTO COMPETITION FOR STUDENTS

Intended to create links with Canadian everyday life

"The mobile city" is the name of a new photo competition which will take place between February 15th and May 15th and is intended to build a bridge between Milan and Toronto.

The underlying idea is to enable young students, of Milan and Toronto, between the ages of 16 and 22 to express and compare through the use of images their idea and perception of the city they live in. The material produced will be published on the web site of the competition and will be graded by a jury of experts. The 30 finalists will be lucky enough to see their works published in a book and exhibited; the first 10 finalists will, in addition, participate to a cultural exchange between Canada e Italy.

"Milano Municipality has offered its contribute and support to a new innovative and informal project intended to boost contacts between different realities" said Mariolina Maioli, Town Councilor for Family, School and Social policies. "Photography is a form of art young people feel very inclined to" she added.

The project is sponsored by the Italian Camera di Commercio in Toronto, Milano Municipality, the Province of Milano and the Milano Camera di Commercio.
