MILAN MAYOR RULES OUT RUNNING IN POLITICAL ELECTIONS

Few City Councilors may opt for Parliament

Mayor of Milano Letizia Moratti ruled out the possibility of running in the next political elections. "I will stay in Milan, I believe it is important to carry on with one's own programs and commitment" she said.

"This is what I did when I was minister and this is what I will do now that I am Mayor of Milan. For this reason I do not intend to run in the next election" added Mrs Moratti during the inauguration of a new square in the outskirts borough of Quarto Oggiaro.

However it is expected a few city Councilors will quit Palazzo Marini in favor of the Parliament: among these is Tiziana Maiolo, municipality councilor for Productive activities. "If I receive the offer I will not say no" she said.
