EDISON PRESENTS THE FIRST ECO-SUSTAINABLE BUILDING IN TOWN

It's the company head office in Foro Buonaparte

Edison Milan's head office in Foro Buonaparte is the first eco-sustainable building in town. Thanks to the project called "Risparmio Illuminato" ("Illuminated saving"), the building will reduce its energetic consumption, producing renewable energy and cutting down Co2 emissions.

The project plans to adopt a new low power consumption illumination device, reducing 217 tons of co2's emissions per year. In the roof of each building solar panels will be installed, used to generate renewable electricity directly from sunlight. In a 400 m2 surface, the solar implant will produce 30 Mwh of energy per year. Thanks to this device, Edison will save 18 tons of Co2 every year.

"We made this project because we want to be a socially responsible company, focused on the planet's future", said Andrea Prandi, Director of External Relations and Communication in Edison.

The "Risparmio Illuminato" project was created by a group of Edison employees to promote sustainable development inside the company. The project will be gradually extended to other Edison's offices in Italy.
