The Salone del Mobile is coming to town. The International Furniture Fair of Milano, the largest and most anticipated trade fair of its kind, will take place from the 16th to the 21st of April in the FieraMilano complex, in the Milan metropolitan area town of Rho. The exhibition will be hosted on over 220,000 square meters, in a space that will include the International Furniture Exhibition, the International Kitchen Furniture Exhibition and the new SaloneUfficio/the International Biennial Workspace Exhibition. The fair will be open to the public at large only on Sunday, April 20.

As always, the fair will present the excellence of the commercial offering in this sector. It will be building on past experience, particularly the previous year and its outcome, with its 270.000 visitors (of whom 165.000 coming from foreign countries), and 2.000 exhibitor companies. There will be an infinite variety of conceptions, covering all types of domestic furnishing, and a lot of different styles, from classic to modern to trendsetting. Not to mention ideas for the kitchen, the bathroom, and the office and the creative inventions of young designers.

But I Saloni have also put together a great range of collateral events, both at the exhibition centre and in the city. In the "Loggia dei Mercanti", near the Sforzesco Castle, the artist Michelangelo Pistoletto will set up an installation called "Ufficio fabbrica creativa". Also, for the special occasion, director and painter Peter Greenaway will animate the Leonardo Da Vinci Last Supper with lights and sounds.
