A couple of months to go before the vote for the Expo 2015 location, which lies in the hands of 114 countries from all over the world. The Italian Consul of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Alfredo Cestari, is actively committed to the diplomatic mission, which should channel, in the direction of Milan, the votes of those African nations which will cast theirs on March 31st.
After meeting Mayor Letizia Moratti and a diplomatic delegation from Congo, Brazzaville and Rwanda, Mr Cestari is currently in Rome to meet ambassadors and government representatives of Burundi, Gabon, Ivory Coast and Angola, after which, other meetings with Milan Mayor are scheduled.
Mr Cestari is in fact also President of ItalAfrica, an association set up in 2004 in Naples by the General Consulate of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Italy, which warrants its international legality. Among the founders there are managers, businessmen, diplomatic and institutional figures from both Italy and Central African countries.
ItalAfrica is a non-profit making organization aimed at consolidating and developing economic relations between Italy and Central African countries with comparable geo-economic characteristics.
