The Fiera di Milano Unica (Italian Textile Exhibition) will host a special fashion event which brings together for the first time six Italian top designers: Salvatore Ferragamo, Gianfranco Ferré, Antonio Marras, Missoni, Valentino e Versace.

The initiative is sponsored also by Regione Lombardia and by the Fashion Lombardia Committee and will take place on February 19 at Fieramilanocity. On catwalk the best items of spring-summer 2008 collection.

Milano Unica, which this year reaches it's sixth edition, attracted in the previous ones around 650-700 exhibitors. Visitors were on average 35 thousand with a peak of buyers from the emerging country markets. This coming edition will see altogether 659 stands spreading over an area of 27.000 square meters. 511 the Italian exhibitors, 148 the European stands coming from France, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal and Germany.

"Milano Unica - explained president of Milano Unica, Paolo Zegna - wants to develop in line with the textile industry. It's aim is to to become an important fashion venue and not only a commercial event" he said.

"Our goal - added Giovanni Bozzetti, president of the Lombardia Fashion Committee - is to highlight the potentials of the fashion system in Lombardia, an objective which cannot exclude the exhibition sector. Milano Unica is the most poignant example of the capacity to bring together in the same team different forces".
