Italian internationally acclaimed film director Ermanno Olmi will inaugurate the sixth edition of "Italian Cinema seen from Milan" the film review taken care by the Italian Film library Foundation which takes off tomorrow. The best 2007 film productions will be projected in the evenings during the whole week. Among the artists expected to take part to the event are film directors Silvio Soldini ("Pane e Tulipani" and the more recent "Giorni e Nuvole"), Saverio Costanzo ("Private"), and Pasquale Scimeca ("Placido Rizzotto"). Actor Fabrizio Bentivoglio, songwriter Franco Battiato, are just a few of the other artists to look out for.
The festival will also host a rich section dedicated to documentaries and film previews: a truly unique event for enthusiasts and professionals. New talents will yet again be at the center of attention with the "Rivelazioni" competition: the best independent productions selected will be broadcast in the Lombardy region.
Among the most interesting events in programme the Conference "Italian Cinema today. The reality emotion" which will bring together some of the most valid contemporary film directors, from Marco Bellocchio to Carlo Lizzani, from Davide Ferrario to Gabriele Salvatores.
