Milano is among Europe's 10 best destinations for young people

Thanks to cheap and good-quality events for students

Milano is among Europe's 10 best destinations for young people

At Christmas time, Milano can be both the sophisticated metropolis that offers chic and glamorous events and the ideal destination for young people who look for 'low cost' happenings. In fact, the Lombardy capital is among the European ten big cities mentioned by the foreign press as for cheap (but good-quality) initiatives. According to a survey carried out by the international journalistic observatory 'Nathan il Saggio', which in the last 30 days has monitored over 500 articles, thanks to the dozens of events it hosts every day, Milano is fifth in this special classification and it stands out as one of the most attractive cities for young people.

Only Berlin, Paris, London and Roma beat Milano. The latter is recommended above all for the cultural initiatives intended for students, like the operas' preview at the Teatro alla Scala for people aged 26 and down. Last Saturday's Natalie Cole's free concerts in piazza Duomo drew thousands of young fans and music lovers. Among the other remarkable initiatives related with the Christmas festivities are the 'SnowPark' in piazza del Cannone and the 'Wonders Village' inside the gardens of via Palestro.

SnowPark: ski slopes and fun in the city centre

The admission and the first lesson are free for school children

SnowPark: ski slopes and fun in the city centre

Skiing in the city centre during the Christmas festivities: in Milano for the second year in a row it is possible. From today until January 25th, Piazza del Cannone hosts once again the 'SnowPark', which acts as a real ski resort. In fact, visitors can take advantage of a multi-sport area made of two slopes: a ski slope, which also has a practice ground, and one for snow tubing, with a ski-lift. Besides, there is a 'welcome village' provided with everything people might need to enjoy their experience: info point, ticket office, ski school, solarium, refreshment area.

The admission to the SnowPark is free, while both the ski pass and the renting of the ski equipment will cost 5 euros. The instructors of the ski school are ready to attend to the people on the ski runs and give individual and group lessons. Until January 6th, the facility will be open every day from 10 am to 7 pm, while on weekdays from January 7th until January 25th from 9 am.

In view of this edition, the regional government has launched a schools-oriented project: from January 7th to January 23rd, the SnowPark will offer the students of junior and middle schools the chance to get a free lesson. For school-children transportation will be free.
